Elite Student Athlete Support ProgramMonash Sport offers a structured program that encourages and supports student athletes, enabling them to undertake higher education while continuing to train and participate in sport at an elite level. The Athlete Support Program operates at all of Monash's Australian campuses and offers support in many areas; including course advise, faculty support, access to sporting facilities and in some cases financial support. Athlete Support at Monash University creatively adds value to Monash University qualifications through improving the University experience and contributing to a holistic, balanced lifestyle. With particular reference to pathways to sporting excellence, Monash recognises the need to actively assist those of its student’s undertaking/pursuing elite sporting activities to do so in parallel and balance with their academic programs of study. Monash Sport, in conjunction with Monash University , has a network of contacts available to assist athletes in balancing their Study and Sport. 2010 Monash Sport Bursaries:Each year, a limited number of bursaries are available for enrolled students, and range from Gym Memberships to monetary grants of between $200 and $5,000. Applications have re-opened for 2010, and will close on February 19. The bursary given will depend on the number of applicants, on the students level of sport and their commitment to representing Monash University. Applicants must be enrolled at Monash University and must be commited to representing Monash in their sport, particularly at the Australian University Games.
